What do I need to do before I travel?

Have a negative Covid-19 PCR result within the 3 days before travel

Book a Travel Test Package (£149) – for tests on Day 2 and Day 8 of your 10 day quarantine or a Day 2 Test, depending on where you are entering the UK from.

Complete a passenger locator form (details of where you will be quarantining on arrival) – the test centre will provide a unique booking reference number to put on this form

When does my quarantine start?

Your quarantine starts the day you arrive in England – and ends 10 days after the day you arrived. You may only use public transport if you have no other option. If you have symptoms do not travel by public transport. If you are travelling from green list countries or amber if you’re double vaccinated, you might not have to quarantine.

What if I haven’t booked a test before arriving into England?

If you did not book a test before you arrived in England, you can book one after you arrive. However, you will need to complete another passenger locator form to opt into the scheme.

What is the Test to Release scheme?

The Test to Release scheme is a voluntary test and can be done if you want to reduce your 10 day isolation period after arriving in England. You cannot take a test until you have been in England for 5 full days. Test to Release must be booked and paid for privately, via a private provider listed on the Government website.

You cannot use the Test to Release scheme if you have been in or through any country on the Travel Ban Red List in the last 10 days, before arrival in England.

You must still take Day 2 and Day 8 tests (unless exempt) and even if you get a negative Test to Release (Day 5) result, you still have to take a test on Day 8 to check that you do not have Covid-19 at this time.

How and when do I book a Test to Release?

You will need to book your test in advance before arriving in England. Please note our standard Covid-19 PCR test is not sufficient for a Test to Release and does not produce the certificate you require, you will need to book a Test to Release appointment if you are hoping to reduce your isolation time.

Please book online from above and complete the pre-screening assessment on the booking form. A unique ID will be created for you after the booking has been completed. You will need to call our clinic to retrieve your unique ID, unfortunately, this is not an automated process just yet. If this is out of the clinic opening hours this will be sent as soon as we re-open. Our customer service contact number is 0203 637 5566.

Please ensure you have completed the GOV.UK passenger locator form which you can find here.

When can I take my Test to Release?

Adhering to Government regulations, you can only take your test after 5 full days of self isolation have been completed.

Government guidelines may change and we encourage you to visit the government website for the latest information about eligibility for Test to Release. You can find more information here.

Can I book a Test to Release if I have symptoms?

If you or other people you are booking for are showing any symptoms you must NOT come to the clinic.

A temperature of more than 37.8 C

A cough

Shortness of breath

Muscle Aches

Headaches

Abdominal symptoms

Loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days

A member of your household or close contact having any of the above symptoms in the last 14 days

Do I still need to self-isolate while I wait for my test result?

It’s a legal requirement to self-isolate when you arrive in the UK from a non-exempt country, territory or region. You must self-isolate on arrival in England. You can take a test after 5 full days of self-isolation.

Example. You leave a country on Monday morning and arrive in England on Monday afternoon. Tuesday will be classed as  your first full day of self-isolation. You can take a test no earlier than your 5th full day of self-isolation, which would be Saturday. You must continue to self-isolate while you await your test result.

How is my Test to Release result sent?

Results will be made available via email within 48 hours from when you have had the test taken. You will receive a signed certificate with the following details:

Patient information

Passport Number

Unique ID used for passenger locator form

Date and time of test

Date and time of analyses of swab
