What is the Test to Release scheme?
The Test to Release scheme can be used to shorten your self-isolation period when arriving in England. Test to Release must be booked and paid for privately, via a government approved provider.
When can I take my Test to Release?
Adhering to Government regulations, you can only take your test after 5 full days of self isolation have been completed.

How much does a Test to Release cost?
Test to Release swabs are charged at £200 per test. We do operate a 24 hour cancellation policy. For full details, please see our refund and cancellation policy below.
How and when do I book a Test to Release?
You will need to book your test in advance before arriving in England. Please note our standard Covid-19 PCR test is not sufficient for a Test to Release and does not produce the certificate you require, you will need to book a Test to Release appointment if you are hoping to reduce your isolation time.
Please book online and complete the pre screening assessment on the booking form. A unique ID will be created for you after the booking has been completed. You will need to call our clinic to retrieve your unique ID, unfortunately this is not an automated process just yet. What if I haven't booked a test before arriving into England?
If you did not book a test before you arrived in England, you can book one after you arrive. However, you will need to complete another passenger locator form to opt into the scheme.
Can I book a Test to Release if I have symptoms?
If you or other people you are booking for are showing any symptoms you must NOT come to the clinic.
+ A temperature of more than 37.8 C
+ A cough
+ Shortness of breath
+ Muscle Aches
+ Headaches
+ Abdominal symptoms
+ Loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days
+ A member of your household or close contact having any of the above symptoms in the last 14 days
How is my Test to Release result sent?
Results will be made available via email within 48 hours from when you have had the test taken. You will receive a signed certificate with the following details:
- Patient information
- Passport Number
- Unique ID used for passenger locator form
- Date and time of test
- Date and time of analyses of swab
- Clinic information
More frequently asked questions
Do I still need to self-isolate while I wait for my test result?
It’s a legal requirement to self-isolate when you arrive in the UK from a non-exempt country, territory or region. You must self-isolate on arrival in England. You can take a test after 5 full days of self-isolation.
Example. You leave a country on Monday morning and arrive in England on Monday afternoon. Tuesday will be classed as your first full day of self-isolation. You can take a test no earlier than your 5th full day of self-isolation, which would be Saturday. You must continue to self-isolate while you await your test result.
Can I travel to your clinic for a Test to Release appointment?
If you live live in England and it is 5 or more days since your arrival you are only allowed to travel to our clinic if you currently don’t have any symptoms listed below:
+ A temperature of more than 37.8 C
+ A cough
+ Shortness of breath
+ Muscle Aches
+ Headaches
+ Abdominal symptoms
+ Loss of taste or smell in the last 14 days
+ A member of your household or close contact having any of the above symptoms in the last 14 days
Can I go on public transport to travel to my Test to Release?
You are advised not to use public transport to go to a Covid-19 test centre, however, it is not illegal to do so.
Do I still need to self-isolate whilst waiting for my test result?
Yes, you must continue to self-isolate until you have received a negative test result.
What if my Test to Release result is positive?
If you have not had symptoms of coronavirus, you must self-isolate for 10 days from your test date. If you have symptoms of coronavirus, you must self-isolate for 10 days from the day your symptoms started, if earlier than when you took your test.
People you live with or are travelling with should also self-isolate for 10 days from the day you took a test. You may be contacted for contact tracing to check that you, and those who you live or are travelling with, are self-isolating. You must not travel, including to leave the UK, during self-isolation.

What if my Test to Release result is negative?
If you receive a negative Covid-19 test result when taking part in the Test to Release programme, you may stop self-isolating.
What if my Test to Release result is inconclusive?
If your test is inconclusive, you would be required to take another test as it is not possible to say if you had the virus at the time the test was done. The Regenerative Clinic will manage this on a case by case basis, and aim to help provide a conclusive result.
You must, by law, continue self-isolating for the remainder of your self-isolation period.
What if I am arriving from a country listed on the UK travel ban?
You will not be able to use the Test to Release scheme if you have arrived from a country listed on the UK travel ban. You can check the latest listings by visiting Coronavirus (COVID-19): restrictions on travel and transport to England – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Will I be contacted to make sure I am self-isolating?
You may be contacted to ensure you are isolating after arriving in England.
What if I live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland?
Test to Release is currently only applicable to people living in England.
