Mr Amit Kumar Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon BSc (Hons), MBBS, FRCS Ed (Tr&Orth) is a Consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery. He is a specialist managing arthritic conditions and performs hip and knee replacements along with knee arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage conditions.He also performs joint injections including steroid, platelet rich plasma and viscosupplementation (ostenil).

Mr Kumar’s sub-specialty interests include soft tissue lumps and bumps so investigation of suspicious lumps.

He completed my medical degree at the Royal Free and University College London medical school in 2003 and undertook my early surgical training here in the North West. Mr Kumar’s specialist post-graduate training in Trauma & Orthopaedics was in the East Midlands (South) T&O rotation. He subsequently completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and sarcoma in Leicester, Nottingham and Wrightington hospitals.

During the consultation, he always ensures the patient is at the centre of the decision-making process answering any questions they may have. He regularly collects outcome data and his practice is evidence-based.

Mr Kumar practice at Spire Manchester Hospital as well as their clinic in Hale, Cheshire.
