Mr Barkatali is a specialist consultant knee surgeon with a special interest in knee joint preservation and regenerative surgical treatment. He qualified in 2004 from The University of Edinburgh, has taught at Oxford University, and after completing his surgical training, was appointed as a consultant in 2014.
He strongly believes that preserving the human knee for as long as possible is a far better approach than replacement. He is an expert in this field and employs a number of techniques in order to facilitate the preservation approach. These include biological treatments such as stem cell therapy and PRP injections, as well as limb realignment, cartilage regeneration, and stem assisted ACL repair.
