What we test
TSH is made by the pituitary gland in your brain and helps to regulate your weight, body temperature, muscle strength, and mood. Higher or lower than normal TSH levels can indicate your thyroid isn't working correctly.
Thyroxine is made in the thyroid and measuring the levels of T4 can help you understand if your thyroid is working properly. High levels can lead to diarrhoea, weight loss, anxiety and tremors.
FT4 is a hormone that impacts breathing, heart function, nervous system function, body temperature, cholesterol level, brain development, moisture in the skin, and menstruation. Low T4 means you might have an underperforming thyroid.
Triiodothyronine impacts growth, metabolism, temperature, and heart rate. An FT3 test looks at the free levels of this hormone and levels out of normal ranges could be a sign thyroid disease.
